“Not only are we transforming the park into all-new areas of retail, dining and entertainment, wellness and adventure, but we’re also heading into the metaverse to reimagine the way we engage consumers, how they connect with each other and their adventures at Ocean Park,” said Ocean Park CEO Ivan Wong.

Animoca Brands Corporation Ltd subsidiary, The Sandbox, has partnered with Hong Kong’s famous Ocean Park to create groundbreaking digital entertainment in the virtual world of NFTs and games.

Ocean Park turns 45, looks to the future

Since its opening in 1977, Ocean Park has grown from a unique theme park in Hong Kong to a world-class attraction, connecting people with nature.

Today, the park embraces the world of the metaverse, offering a new way to engage consumers.

Following The Sandbox’s recent partnership with gaming giant Ubisoft, it’s clear that decentralized virtual gaming has entered a new era of growth.

New Realm of Virtual Possibilities

The Sandbox Metaverse offers players an intuitive platform to create immersive 3D worlds, as well as securely store, trade, and even monetize their creations.

But it’s not just for games that The Sandbox can be used.

In January, several Hong Kong partners from the film, music, entertainment, theater, professional services, finance and real estate sectors were added to create “Mega City”, a type of cultural center in the metaverse.
