OCEAN PARK – David Florig’s first book, ‘A Life of Dates’, was released on March 5.
David Florig grew up and lived in South Jersey until his retirement in Ocean Park. During his career, Florig has served as a lawyer and executive director of two non-profit organizations. He is a member of the Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance.
“A Life of Dates” is a personal memoir, of sorts, and recounts a perfectly average life, filled with great joys,
overwhelming sadness and a life filled with amazing people, according to a press release.
“Striving to figure out what he was doing every day of his life, he failed miserably,” the statement said. “How could he know what he was doing on a random date in 1967? The result is a journey of consciousness through life in South Jersey to retirement in Ocean Park, Maine.
The book takes the reader through the diary of Florig’s life, from birth to being a single teenage mother he never knew, to adoption, peewee football at the Atlantic City Convention Hall , one foot hot dogs in Delaware, Pan Am 103, a hotly contested competition. student council election and old man’s softball in Maine and Massachusetts, “A Life of Dates” is full of memories of life in South Jersey and, finally, Maine.
